Paw Prints Plus is a new magazine for pet lovers and their animal companions. As it continues to develop, both online and in print, you can be a part of its growth by sharing ideas or contributing articles. If you have suggestions for articles you can submit them to the editor for consideration. If you wish to write and submit an article please follow these guidelines:
1. Contact the editor via e-mail describing the subject of your article (rcspub@nycap.rr.com).
2. Your article or essay must be original and not have been published elsewhere and be free of copyright issues.
3. The subject matter must fit under the umbrella of interests held by PPP’s “pet people ” readers, who are concerned about the health and well-being of their animal companions and the relationships they share. Where possible, it should have a slant toward a New York Capital Region readership.
4. While you are encouraged to draw upon your knowledge and experience, the article or essay should not be self-serving (e.g., a “sales and marketing” piece).
5. Articles/essays that involve matters of public policy may be accepted. However, articles/essays that involve political partisanship or religious preferences or ad hominem attacks will not be accepted. Furthermore, the editor reserves the right to reject any submission he/she deems unsuitable.
6. In most instances an article or essay should contain fewer than 750 words. At the discretion of the editor, longer pieces will be considered.
7. Email articles as double-spaced Word files in 12-point type or embed the copy in your email message. No tabbing or indents please.
8. Factual assertions that could be disputed need to be supported by citations.
9. Digital photos and illustrations may be submitted for consideration. Images should be high-resolution files. Consult with the editor prior to sending artwork.
10. Include a brief byline, including a business/company/organization affiliation where appropriate, and provide your name, address, phone and approximate word count. A photo is desirable.
